Prayer for God’s Help

Psalm 60:11
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless.

The Bible declares that God hears the prayers of His people. I’m writing to ask God’s people to pray for the people of Haiti. The help of man is useless. Only God can dispel the darkness that has settled over this Caribbean country. Pray that God will strengthen His people to hope in His help.

I am helping organize a 72-hour prayer vigil in Haiti that will take place in six areas of the country simultaneously. Dr. Chavannes asked me to help in this venture. Dr. Chavannes is a former Vice President of Haiti. He currently oversees the work of the largest Baptist group in Haiti. Dr. Chavannes ask the current Prime Minister of Haiti to support and promote this much-needed focus on prayer for the country.

Preparation for the prayer vigil will require several visits to the country. I will train pastors to facilitate the prayer meetings and plan for the Prayer Assembly in Port-Au-Prince after the 72-hour prayer vigil.

Planning and training the pastors is a task requiring far more resources than I have, but I’m trusting God to provide all that is needed and prepare the hearts of the people of Haiti to respond in obedience to God’s call to repentance and faith.
